Αίσχος : Η Ελλάδα εξαναγκάστηκε να αγοράσει όπλα για να λάβει την "ευρωπαική βοήθεια"...

Παρίσι: "Η Γαλλία και η Γερμανία, ενώ προτρέπουν δημοσίως την Ελλάδα να κάνει σκληρές περικοπές των δημόσιων της δαπανών, εξαναγκάζουν την κυβέρνησή της να πληρώσει δισεκατομμύρια ευρώ σε αγορές όπλικών συστημάτων" ισχυρίστηκε ο ευρωβουλευτής και ηγέτης των Πρασίνων Daniel Cohn-Bendit την Παρασκευή.

Ο κος Daniel Cohn-Bendit, νομοθέτης Γαλλο-γερμανικής καταγωγής είπε ότι το Παρίσι και το Βερολίνο εξανάγκασαν τον πρωθυπουργό κ.Παπανδρέου να δαπανήσει πολύτιμους πόρους (απο τα δανεικά που θα μας δώσουν!!!) της Ελλάδας για υποβρύχια, πολεμικά πλοία, ελικόπτερα και πολεμικά αεροσκάφη!!!

"Συνάντησα τον κ. Παπανδρέου την περασμένη εβδομάδα. Ήμουν στην Αθήνα" είπε ο Cohn-Bendit, παλιός γνωστός του πρωθυπουργού," όπως δήλωσε σε δημοσιογράφους, και κατηγόρησε την καγκελάριο της Γερμανίας κ.Angela Merkel και τον γάλλο Πρόεδρο Nicola Sarkozy για εκβιασμό του φίλου του. Ο Cohn-Bendit κατηγόρησε ότι η Γαλλία και η Γερμανία για να "ενδώσουν" και να συνεισφέρουν στο πακέτο διάσωσης του ΔΝΤ της ελληνικής οικονομίας, ο κ.Παπανδρέου στην Αθήνα θα "πρέπει" να προχωρήσει στις μαζικές αγορές των όπλων που υπέγραψε ο προκάτοχός του...
«Είναι απίστευτος ο τρόπος των Merkel και των Sarkozy αυτού του κόσμου στο πως αντιμετωπίζουν έναν Ελληνα πρωθυπουργό» δήλωσε, προσθέτοντας "ότι ο Παπανδρέου συναντήθηκε πρόσφατα με τον Sarkozy και τον Γάλλο πρωθυπουργό Francois Fillon στο Παρίσι. «Οι κύριοι Φιγιόν και Sarkozy είπαν στον κ. Παπανδρέου οτι «εμείς πρόκειται να σας δώσουμε τα χρήματα και θα σας βοηθήσουμε, αλλά θα πρέπει εσείς να συνεχίσετε να πληρώνετε τις συμβάσεις όπλων που έχουμε μαζί σας», είπε ο Cohn-Bendit.

"Κατά τους τελευταίους τρεις μήνες "μας ανάγκασαν να εγγυηθούμε πολλά δισεκατομμύρια δολάρια σε συμβάσεις όπλων. Γαλλικές φρεγάτες που οι Έλληνες θα πρέπει να αγοράσουμε για 2,5 δισεκατομμύρια ευρώ. Ελικόπτερα, πολεμικά αεροσκάφη, γερμανικά υποβρύχια..."

Ο Cohn-Bendit, είναι ένας πρώην ηγέτης της φοιτητικής εξέγερσης του 1968 στο Παρίσι, και είναι ο επικεφαλής της ομάδας των Πρασίνων στο Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο. /AFP

PARIS: France and Germany, while publicly urging Greece to make harsh public spending cuts, bullied its government to confirm billions of euros in arms deals, a leading Euro-MP alleged Friday.

Franco-German lawmaker Daniel Cohn-Bendit said that Paris and Berlin are seeking to force Prime Minister George Papandreou to spend Greece’s scarce cash on submarines, a fleet of warships, helicopters and war planes.

“I met Mr Papandreou last week. I was in Athens. I’ve known him for a long time,” Cohn-Bendit told reporters, accusing Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel and France’s President Nicolas Sarkozy of blackmailing his friend. Cohn-Bendit accused France and Germany of making their contributions to an IMF-led rescue package for the debt-ridden Greek economy contingent on Athens honouring massive arms deals signed by Papandreou’s predecessor.
“It’s incredible the way the Merkels and Sarkozys of this world treat a Greek prime minister,” he declared, adding that Papandreou had recently met Sarkozy and French Prime Minister Francois Fillon in Paris. “Mr Fillon and Mr Sarkozy told Mr Papandreou: ‘We’re going to raise the money to help you, but you are going to have to continue to pay the arms contracts that we have with you’,” Cohn-Bendit said.

“In the past three months we have forced Greece to confirm several billion dollars in arms contracts. French frigates that the Greeks will have to buy for 2.5 billion euros. Helicopters, planes, German submarines.”

Cohn-Bendit, a former leader of the 1968 student revolt in Paris, is leader of the Green group in the European parliament. /afp

Commenting on the result of today's meeting of the EU finance and economy ministers on the Greek budget crisis, Rebecca Harms and Daniel Cohn-Bendit, Co-Presidents of the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament today said:

"We welcome that the EU's finance ministers today made clear that the EU would support Greece if an emergency situation arises from the current budget crisis. This is an important signal of solidarity but it does not let Greece off the hook. Greece has been one of the main receivers of EU funds, but has not always used the money well. Greece must now swiftly undertake substantial reforms of its taxation system, step up the fight against corruption and tax evasion and undertake severe spending cuts, which must be socially compatible. Rather than making deep salary cuts, Greece should cut its bloated military budget, which is one of the biggest in the EU in terms of percentage of GDP.
The EU faces a difficult balancing act in dealing with the Greek budget crisis: it has to be firm on its demands for reform without jeopardising the economic and social prospects of the country. The European Union must itself learn the lessons of the current crisis. Firstly, the need for a more integrated and better supervised economic policy on a European level is more evident than ever. In this context, the Greens support the proposal to give Eurostat, the European Union's statistical agency, more powers to audit the accounts of national governments. Secondly, as the EU shapes its "Europe 2020" strategy, it should aim for a better integrated economic policy during this decade. The EU should also reconsider the proposal by the current Spanish EU Presidency to introduce binding objectives for "Europe 2020".
The Greens also believe that Brussels should be allowed to issue Eurobonds, which would make the financing of Greece's financial needs cheaper and help them to get out of the crisis sooner."
