Όπως φαίνεται το Χόλυγουντ ήξερε πιο νωρίς από όλους τους άλλους, ότι ένας καινούργιος Ψυχρός Πόλεμος, ανάμεσα στις ΗΠΑ και τη Ρωσία επρόκειτο να ξεσπάσει. Για να καταλαβαίνετε και πόσο «στημένα» είναι μερικά πράγματα στη διεθνή πολιτική σκηνή. Το Watchmen θεωρείται από πολλούς ο Πολίτης Κέην των κόμιξ. Είναι ένα περίπλοκο, μυστηριώδες, όσο και αποκαλυπτικό φίλμ νουάρ της εποχής του Ψυχρού Πολέμου. Το κόμιξ των Watchmen βασισμένο στο συγγραφικό ταλέντο του ΄Αλαν Μουρ και την πένα του Ντέηβ Γκίμπονς, κυκλοφόρησε το 1986-87 σε δώδεκα μηνιαία τεύχη που ήταν αρκετά για να επηρεάσουν βαθιά την καινούργια γενιά των σχεδιαστών κόμιξ. Η ταινία που πολλοί υποστηρίζουν ότι θα είναι η μεγάλη επιτυχία για το καλοκαίρι του 2009, είναι σκηνοθετημένη, από τον Ζάκ Σνάϊντερ, τον ταλαντούχο σκηνοθέτη των 300, με τους οποίους ούτε λίγο ούτε πολύ δημιούργησε μια καινούργια κινηματογραφική γραφή , με πρωταγωνιστές τους όχι και τόσο γνωστούς Πάτρικ Γουΐλσον, Τζάκι Ερλ Χάρλεϋ, Μπίλλυ Κράνταπ, Μαλίν Άκερμαν, Τζέφρυ Ντην Μόργκαν και Μάθιου Γκουντ.
